Recent Field Activity – Al-Hasakeh, Northeast Syria
Published: March 5, 2026
Activity Date: Early March 2026
Spreading Hope in Northeast Syria
As we work toward establishing a permanent presence in Syria, the spirit of Keryo’s Hearth and Hope AISBL is already present on the ground.
This recent activity in the city of Al-Hasakeh offered a simple yet meaningful gesture: bringing gifts and joy to the children who are the heart of their community. From carefully prepared presents to the smiles they inspired, every detail reflects a small but sincere step toward peace.
We continue to explore the appropriate pathway for local registration in order to expand our work across Northeast Syria. Until then, our commitment remains unchanged — to be present, to serve, and to bring hope.

Operational Update – North-East Syria and Regional Engagement
Date: 9 February 2026
Keryo’s Hearth and Hope AISBL continues its institutional and operational preparation phase, with a primary focus on north-east Syria, alongside ongoing regional engagement in Iraq and Ukraine.
Our team is currently pursuing the administrative procedures required to establish an operational presence in Al-Hasakah Governorate. Progress has been affected by recent administrative and governance developments in the region. In this evolving context, our team remains engaged and continues to follow all applicable legal and regulatory processes in coordination with relevant authorities.
Despite these constraints, contextual monitoring and field-level analysis are ongoing. Early observations point to significant humanitarian and early recovery needs in north-east Syria, including high levels of poverty, limited access to water, electricity shortages, and environmental health concerns related to waste accumulation in urban areas.
In parallel, Keryo’s Hearth and Hope maintains active dialogue with local non-governmental organizations and civil society actors in Syria, Iraq, and Ukraine, with the aim of strengthening coordination and understanding local priorities.
At the institutional level, the organization is also undertaking structured learning and mapping of international institutional funding frameworks and foundations, in order to ensure that future engagement is aligned with our mandate, principles, and strategic objectives.
Further updates will be shared as administrative procedures advance and operational planning progresses.

As part of this process, we are conducting initial field research and needs assessments to better understand community needs and ensure alignment with our mission and objectives.
We are also undertaking structured research on international donors and supporters, including institutions and foundations, to identify partnerships aligned with our strategic priorities.
A key priority during this phase is the establishment of our first operational presence in north-east Syria, alongside ongoing coordination with partner organizations in Iraq and Ukraine.
In line with our commitment to transparency, this page will be regularly updated as we progress toward full operational activities.
